Working to prevent trauma and to promote individual and community healing through collective action in Southern Southeast Alaska.

Our Mission and vision for southern southeast alaska

Revilla Island Resilience Initiative (RIRI) is a community collaborative that utilizes a collective impact framework to act to prevent childhood trauma and promote individual, family, and community healing from trauma in Southern Southeast Alaska. Over the past year, RIRI has coordinated events to both bring awareness to the social issue of childhood trauma and to promote education and skill building to create a more trauma-informed and trauma-responsive community. In order to create a more trauma-responsive community, we acknowledge social disparities that exist within our community and society, and then act to address them. With more safety and equity within our community we promote the health and well-being of all community members, not just those who are impacted by violence.
